Job Summary/Objective 

KETOS is looking for a Vice President/Director, Sales.  The ideal candidate is passionate about building a sales organization from the ground up and implementing a strong go-to-market strategy aligned with the company’s vision and mission.  

We are looking for an inspiring, creative leader and coach with experience driving success in startups.  The individual should be capable of creating a performance based approach to build a repeatable sales process that delivers results, and can coach all levels of sales professionals to grow in their careers. This individual will be responsible for developing strategic sales plans based on company goals that will promote sales growth and customer satisfaction for the organization.  He/she also must be willing to role up their sleeves, learn the process first hand and actually sell.

Key Responsibilities

  • Hire and build a team that believes in the mission of the Company and fits into the Company culture.  

  • Drive development of sales processes, procedures and organizational goals – including building and implementing a go-to-market strategy.  

  • Build repeatable training processes that help Sales Executive's learn sales skills, product and industry knowledge, and professional habits they need to succeed in the role.

  • Train and assist sales reps in closing complex transactions by teaching best practices in prospecting, managing and closing opportunities, and the skills needed to position KETOS as an industry leader.

  • Manage daily and weekly activities, pipelines, forecasts and closed deals to ensure above-quota results based on successful pipeline management

  • Create a team culture that's positive, motivating, and performance-driven.

  • Develop a global market-driven sales strategy, including the identification of attractive markets and formulation of an execution strategy for successful penetration in those markets.

  • Monitor and track Sales Executive individual performance, strengths and weaknesses, and be able to clearly communicate evaluations and execute developmental steps (Performance Improvement Plans). Coach, develop, and mentor Sales Executives to drive continuous improvement in sales skills and product knowledge

  • Defines and oversees sales staff compensation and incentive programs that motivate the sales team to achieve their sales targets.

  • Manages customer expectations and contribute to a high level of customer satisfaction.  

  • Provides detailed and accurate sales forecasting.

  • Compiles information and data related to customer and prospect interactions.

  • Monitors customer, market and competitor activity and provides feedback to company leadership team and other company functions.

  • Performs other related duties as assigned.

Skills & Qualifications

  • Minimum of 15 years of Sales experience, with at least 5 years of Sales Leadership experience.  

  • Experience working in a start-up is a must.  Must have proven record of success in a start-up environment where nothing comes easy and nothing works as planned. 

  • A positive attitude and professional behavior while advocating a team approach to the business.

  • Experience building and maintaining strong, long-lasting client relationships.

  • Demonstrated ability to communicate, present and influence credibly and efficiently at all levels of the organization, including executive and C-level.

  • Ability and desire to work in a fast-paced, high growth environment.

  • Experience utilizing Salesforce to drive metrics and manage team performance and accountability.

  • Excellent interpersonal, verbal, written and organization skills

  • Experience hiring and building successful sales teams.

  • Experience and successful track record within the any of the following industries preferred:  Renewal Energy/Clean Tech, Software IoT or Government.

  • Ability to work effectively and meet objectives without day-to-day direction

  • Able to travel as needed to meet prospective clients.

  • BA/BS degree or equivalent.
