Why data centers get their own packages
A data center’s water chemistry gets tested at three points, and each point asks a different question. The cooling loop decides how far an operator can push cycles of concentration before scale and corrosion start taking equipment time. The discharge outfall answers to a POTW pretreatment agreement or an NPDES permit, each tracking specific parameter families. Stormwater from generator yards and fuel storage drains under a stormwater general permit, with EPA Multi-Sector General Permit benchmark monitoring as the reference practice.
Each package maps to one of those streams and carries the parameter families its permits track. These are the first lab testing packages built specifically for data centers with published analyte lists and published prices; a facilities engineer can read exactly what a panel covers, see what it costs, and order it online in the same visit.

- Order. Pick a package; the kit ships with labeled sample bottles, sampling instructions, a chain-of-custody form, and a prepaid return label.
- Sample. Collect a grab sample from the specified port: the blowdown line for cooling, the outfall or designated sample point for discharge.
- Results. Ship the same day. The digital report arrives 5 to 7 business days after lab receipt and lists every analyte with its result, its unit, and the method used.
Where the results fit
KELP reports serve as operational monitoring and a pre-compliance baseline. Formal permit submissions run through the laboratory a permit designates, and most programs spell out those requirements in the permit itself. Operators use this data to watch discharge chemistry between formal sampling events, to verify a treatment change did what it was supposed to, and to walk into a scheduled compliance event already knowing the numbers.
The PFAS option
The premium discharge package adds a 40-compound PFAS panel to the standard 27-analyte discharge screen. Most discharge permits are silent on PFAS, and community attention on data center water rarely is; a documented PFAS baseline on the outfall means the operator holds the number before anyone asks for it.
